LOCAL PARK ROYAL STORE STEPS UP TO MAKE CHRISTMAS MERRY FOR HOMELESS YOUTH AND SENIORS

November 22, 2024

This year, for the holiday season, La Vie en Rose Park Royal is giving back with a donation of 96 pairs of pyjamas to Hollyburn Community Services Society.

Hollyburn’s Executive Director said: “As you can imagine, the holiday season is a busy time for Hollyburn as we support youth and seniors to shelter from the streets. We do our best to create Christmas at both our Youth and Senior Safe Houses, and for those we have housed but who continue to struggle with poverty. This contribution is awesome: new pyjamas at Christmas is a gift that would make a difference to all of us.”

Every year, Hollyburn creates Christmas Hampers for its clients, many of whom are youth or seniors who have experienced homelessness. “Christmas can be a challenging time for our clients. We want to do what we can to spread some holiday cheer. It’s amazing when the community steps in to help us play Santa. For some, it may be the only gifts they receive”.

After receiving an email from La Vie en Rose at Park Royal’s junior Assistant Manager Kiren, Hollyburn responded immediately with a jubilant YES. The store responded “Thank you for the exceptional work you do. We are honoured to be able to support you”.

Kiren, Junior Assistant Manager, at La Vie en Rose Park Royal who is familiar with the Society’s work, shares “We are proud to be a part of La Vie En Rose’s initiative to give back to our North Shore community this Holiday season! Our team decided to support Hollyburn Community Services Society in their mission to positively impact the lives of those who are in need of comfort”.

Hollyburn will continue to collect items from community members and local businesses to ensure even the North Shores most vulnerable seniors and youth will have a very merry Christmas.
