Seniors built this community. Yet today, too many are facing housing insecurity, finding themselves in shelters, or worse, on the streets.
Youth are struggling like never before. Mental health challenges, lack of family support, and rising homelessness make the transition to adulthood nearly impossible for many.
Families with young children are working hard yet falling behind. The soaring cost of living has turned food insecurity and the lack of affordable housing into everyday realities.
No one on the North Shore community should be facing these struggles.
Hollyburn Community Services Society is making a difference through personalized support, affordable housing, emergency shelter, and counselling. But during the holiday season, these vulnerabilities grow even greater—and we need your help.
Your support changes that reality. With every gift, you provide safe housing, life skills, counseling, and hope to those who need it most.
Together, let’s ensure that no senior, youth, or family is left behind this holiday season!

From Crisis To Campus
Meet M.
At just 15, “M” arrived in Canada completely alone.
She had fled the war in Ukraine, leaving behind her family, her friends, and everything she knew—carrying nothing but hope for safety and a chance at a future. But when she landed here, reality hit hard.
No family. No home. No one to turn to.
For many, this would be the end of the story. A young life lost to circumstances beyond her control.
That’s when she found the North Shore Youth Safe House. For the first time in weeks, “M” had a warm bed, a caring support team, and the reassurance that she wasn’t alone anymore.
Fast forward two years, with the help of Hollyburn’s programs, “M’s” story is nothing short of remarkable.
Today at 17, she is living with roommates, managing her own bills, and taking on responsibilities most of us couldn’t imagine at her age.
This June, she graduated from high school – a dream she once thought was impossible. And it gets better: thanks to our Youth Education Navigator Program, “M” has been accepted to the University of British Columbia to study International Relations.
M” is proof that with your generous support, anything is possible. Every young person deserves a future filled with hope and opportunity.
