The North Shore Intimate Partner Violence Unit (NSIPVU) is a specialized co-located unit created to increase victim safety and offender responsibility by providing a cross jurisdictional response that is uniform in approach in intimate partner violence cases across the North Shore.
The co-located team includes Squamish Nation, the West Vancouver Police Department (WVPD), the North Vancouver RCMP, the Ministry for Children and Family Development (MCFD), and Hollyburn Family Services Society.
The Unit provides timely follow-up services in select intimate partner violence cases where high risk factors are present or in cases where there is an elevated level of risk to victims, and/or their children, accompanied by a need for intensive victim support.
